Compressed medical gas cylinders
We never compromise on safety for patients and healthcare staff. All BOC Healthcare compressed gas cylinders are designed to be robust, safe and convenient to handle. Cylinders and valves meet all relevant regulations and standards. What’s more, all cylinders are inspected at every fill to ensure they are safe for use.
BOC Healthcare has introduced a lightweight integral valve cylinder package called INHALO. Designed in consultation with healthcare professionals, the revolutionary INHALO design integrates cylinder, valve, regulator and flow meter into a single, robust, lightweight and reliable unit.
The fibre-wrapped INHALO cylinder is much lighter than conventional steel models, and the built-in regulator eliminates the need for costly purchase and maintenance of a separate population of regulators. They are now fast becoming the cylinder of choice for many healthcare providers.
Bulk gas supply
Because hospitals generally have large annual consumption levels of medical gases, bulk liquid is a very cost effective and convenient supply option.
BOC Healthcare can supply liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen containers of suitable capacity to match the demands of any healthcare establishment. This equipment includes
storage vessels
vaporisers
control/monitoring panels
telemetry
all necessary piping to the BOC termination point and connection to the hospitals Medical Gas Pipeline System (MGPS).
A control panel regulates the flow of the gas from the VIE before it enters the hospital pipework. This is an essential safety feature, and an area where BOC has a wealth of experience.
Whether you have a VIE already and are considering re-sizing, or installing one for the first time, you need to ensure you have the right system supported by an experienced and reliable supplier. Either way, the decisions you make are vital as these types of installation are complex and can be expensive so you will need to be well informed and well advised.
There are different types and sizes of vessel and a range of factors are involved in making the right selection including:
risks to continuity of supply
current gas consumption levels
your future needs
local standards requirements
practical issues - such as planning permission, site access, environmental/planning restrictions and security.
BOC healthcare supplies a complete range of VIE vessels to meet any requirement. BOC Healthcare has access to all levels of engineering expertise necessary to provide hospitals with a comprehensive advice and installation service.
Regular medical gas top up deliveries are pre-arranged at a frequency to suit consumption patterns. Additionally remote monitoring can be provided with vessel telemetry which automatically collects consumption data directly from your VIE and sends this to our delivery planning centre so that our delivery schedule can be fine-tuned to meet your exact requirements.
Our 24-hour liquid delivery centre provides reliability and peace of mind for customers in the healthcare sector, knowing that we have the resources and capability to maintain adequate supply for both predictable consumption and emergency (disaster) situations.
Flexible liquid solutions
Flexible Liquid Solutions is BOC’s latest state-of-the-art liquid oxygen supply for small to medium hospitals. Flexible Liquid Solutions provide flexibility for medium to high capacity oxygen where there are site restrictions.
BOC can supply liquid oxygen containers of suitable capacity to match the demands of any healthcare facility. This equipment includes storage vessels, vaporisers, control / monitoring panels, telemetry and all necessary piping to the BOC termination point and connection to the hospitals Medical Gas Pipeline System. Appropriate backup vessels and cylinder manifolds will also be required to ensure adequate supply in the event of any primary supply system failure.
Depending on the oxygen usage rate and storage requirements, smaller liquid oxygen vessels can be an option for mid-range gas volumes, between the smaller compressed gas manifold capacities and the more substantial bulk liquid volumes, supplied by a VIE.
The cryogenic liquid is stored in the inner stainless steel vessel, mounted in an outer stainless steel shell. BOC offers two sizes of these vessels, 230 and 450 litres. There are a number of safety features on the vessel such as a relief valve, bursting disk and protection against vacuum failure plus on board telemetry to ensure you never run out of oxygen.
The refilling of liquid vessels is carried out on site by a specialised tanker. Delivery frequency is programmed by BOC, calculated from the first five visits, to ensure a continuous hassle-free supply. This whole system is flexible and requires minimal maintenance by hospital staff. In addition, BOC provides a 24-hour, 365-day emergency call-out service.
Our 24-hour liquid delivery centre provides reliability and peace of mind for customers in the healthcare sector, knowing that we have the resources and capability to maintain adequate supply for both predictable consumption and emergency (disaster) situations.
BOC treats product quality seriously, because we understand the impact it could have for your patients. Our products are produced under Good Manufacturing Practice and are classified as medical products. We therefore ensure that our production plants are continuously monitored, our product is analysed before it reaches the storage vessels and is tested again before we leave an installation.
Planned Preventative Maintenance is carried out on a regular basis by BOC’s own engineers to keep all equipment fully maintained.
Your safety is our number one priority. BOC has a force of trained professional drivers and engineers dedicated to managing your safety during installation and at every delivery thereafter, with the support of well proven policies and procedures.
Customer safety training is provided at the time of installation handover to ensure that all aspects of gas safety are covered on your site.
